WH's Segars honored by WACH, Grow Financial

Wilson Hall senior Liza Segars was recognized as the WACH/Grow Financial Scholar Athlete of the Year during half-time of a recent basketball game in the Nash Student Center. In addition to a plaque, she was presented a scholarship check for $5,000 sponsored by Grow Financial. Senior student athletes from public and private high schools in the five-county Midlands region are eligible for the award, and the judging criteria included academic achievement, athletic achievement, community activities and creativity of a DVD submitted by the student. Segars was one of 22 Scholar Athletes of the Week who were eligible for the Athlete of the Year Award. From left are Greg Conner, WACH general manager; Segars; and Glen Rector, athletic director.
