Will Henry Goodman Sr., 75, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born on Dec. 28, 1942, in the St. John community of Sumter County, he was a son of the late Cornelius Goodman Sr. and Carrie Burgess Goodman. He received his formal education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, he joined Asbury United Methodist Church, Shiloh. Later, he joined Green Acres Assembly of God, Sumter. He was a retired employee of C.L. Benton and Hercules of Florence. He later worked for Shaw Furniture Co., Sumter.

He leaves to cherish his memories: five sons, Will H. Goodman Jr., Theodore Goodman, Leroy (Joyce) Goodman and James B. Goodman, all of Sumter, and Robert (Theresa) Goodman of Dalzell; one daughter, Linda Goodman of Sumter; one stepson, Nathan Burrough of Sumter; one brother, Tommy Goodman of Timmonsville; one sister, Sylvia J. Goodman of Olanta; three uncles, Ronnie Burgess of Atlanta, Carl Burgess of Lynchburg and Charlie Burgess of Miami; two aunts, Sharon Burgess of Miami and Mary Burgess of New York; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 100 Oswego Road, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at St. John United Methodist Church, 4640 Narrow Pave Road, Lynchburg, with the Rev. I.J. Myers officiating, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at noon.

The funeral procession will leave at 12:20 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at St. John United Methodist Churchyard Cemetery, Lynchburg.
