It is with deep sorrow that the Reynolds family announces the death of William Sheldon "Toby" Reynolds, 89. Mr. Reynolds entered into rest on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023. The directors of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home are caring for the family.

A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Bishopville with the Rev. Keith Allison officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The burial will be at 3 p.m. at Kingstree Memorial Gardens in Kingstree.

Memorials may be made in his honor to First Baptist Church of Bishopville, 229 W. Church St., Bishopville, SC 29010.

Mr. Reynolds was born in Bishopville, a son of William S. and Azilee Vivian Lupo Reynolds. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bishopville for 68 years. He graduated from Bishopville High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in 1955 and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternal organization. He married Jean Howard Skinner on Dec. 18, 1955, and began work with Sonoco Products Co. in Hartsville, where he served in various sales functions before retiring after 36 years as director of national accounts. Mr. Reynolds served in the Army National Guard and was a proud member of American Legion Post 29. Through the years, he served in various community organizations and was a founding member of the Bishopville Rescue Squad and the Bishopville Jaycees. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed quail hunting with his good friend, Max DuBose, and he also enjoyed flounder fishing with his friend, Tim McGee, and brother George Anthony "Skeeter" Reynolds. He was a member of the Sonoco Old Timers Club and rarely missed a member gathering. In later years, he enjoyed following his grandchildren's athletic events and graduations.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Jean Howard Skinner Reynolds of Bishopville.

He is survived by his son, William Sheldon (Sarah) Reynolds IV of Kingstree; four grandchildren, William Evan (Margaret) Reynolds, Olivia Paige Reynolds, James Clayton Reynolds and Jeana Faye Reynolds; and two great-grandchildren, Anne Mishoe Reynolds and Carver Louise Reynolds.
