WILLIAM SINGLETON

William "Bill" Singleton was born on Sept. 7, 1946, in Sumter, one of 15 children born to the late Sanders and Delia Bracey Singleton.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by eight of his siblings, Earl Singleton, Wade Singleton, Maceo Singleton, John Singleton, Thomas Singleton, Benjamin (affectionately called "Brother") Singleton, Hattie "Cathy" Jackson and Carrie M. Prioleau.

Bill transitioned from this life on Monday, June 10, 2019, in Sumter.

Bill leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Willie Mae Singleton; two daughters, Zenobia Singleton and Margie (Alvin) Reames; one son, Michael Rogers; grandson, Michael "MJ" Rogers Jr.; three brothers, Gaynard Singleton, James A. Singleton and Lewis Singleton; three sisters, Rhetta Sanders, Sarah Griggs and Darcus "Dottie" Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 130 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Gwendolyn White, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family is receiving friends at 356 Curtis Drive, Sumter.
