Willie Bradley Sr., husband of Mary Lou Alston Bradley, was born on Jan. 25, 1946, in Sumter, a son of Richard and Carrie Lou Mack Bradley. He departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, after a brief illness.

He was educated in the Sumter public school district and graduated from Lincoln High School. After graduating, he moved to New York, where he was employed by Met Life Insurance Co. for more than 30 years and retired. After returning back home to South Carolina, he was employed at Dunbar Security at Union Camp, where he retired.

Mr. Bradley leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou Alston Bradley; his only daughter, Debra Ann Bradley of Brooklyn, New York; his only son, Willie Bradley Jr. and dedicated daughter-in-law, Vonisha Bradley, of Sumter; three granddaughters, Jeniya Bradley, Jelayiah Bradley and Ka'Layah Prince; three grandsons, Nigel Bradley, Daylen Howard and Mykel Prince; two brothers, Joe (Pauline) Bradley of Sumter and James Clayton (Jonnie Mae) of Sumter; one sister, Ms. Richard Dean Bradley of South Carolina; one brother-in-law, James (Ermma) Alston of Sumter; one sister-in-law, Ruth Alston Burgess of Columbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who are deeply saddened by his passing.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jenrya Debra Ann Bradley; and two brothers, Richard Bradley Jr. and Harold Lee (Monica) Bradley.

Public viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Bradley will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150 with the Rev. Jacob Gathers officiating and Pastor Napoleon Bradford, eulogist.

Interment will follow at Mt. Nebo Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of his son, 1124 Hurley Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
