Willie Jenkins Jr., 73, was born on Jan. 29, 1947, in Sumter County, a son of Corine Jenkins and the late Willie Jenkins Sr.

He departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 2, 2020.

He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. Willie was employed with Carolina Furniture and Korn Industries for several years, before retiring. He was a faithful member of Union Station AME Church, where he served as a member of the trustee board, Sons of Allen and male chorus.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his mother, Corine Jenkins; his wife, Anna Marie Lewis Jenkins; two sons, the Rev. Quincey D. Pringle of Winnsboro and Toney Oliver of Sumter; two daughters, Theresa R.H. Jenkins and Shanta Oliver, both of Sumter; one brother, Bobby Jenkins of Sumter; one sister, Ruby (Jimmy) Croskey of Sumter; 19 grandchildren, four of whom he reared as his own; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one godson, Christopher Stewart; one son-in-law, Wilbur A. Hatcher; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family is requesting no visitation at the home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walker Cemetery, Oakland Avenue, Sumter, with the Rev. Lemuel Washington, pastor of Union Station AME Church, officiating, eulogist.

The procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from 118 Webb Ave., Sumter.
