NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Willie Mae Hilton, 57, died Aug. 9, 2005, in New Orleans.

Born Oct. 17, 1947, in the Wilson community of Manning, she was a daughter of the late Louis J. Hilton and the late Bessie Tucker Hilton. She was a graduate of Manning Training School Class of 1965. Afterwards, she furthered her education in the area of nursing at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Fla., and received a diploma in nursing. Later, she attended the Edna McConnell Clark School of Nursing, Presbyterian Hospital, New York, N.Y., and became a registered nurse. Over the years, she was employed with several hospitals, and was a lifelong member of Shiloh AME Church. Prior to her illness, she was employed at the Medical Unit, 30th Street Post Office, Philadelphia, Pa.

Survivors include three brothers, Louis (Betty) Hilton and Carrell (Jacqueline) Hilton, both of Foreston, and Ernett Hilton of Manning; four sisters, Ethel Johnson of Charleston, Lottie (Lionel) Marco of New Orleans, La., Lauretta Hilton and Carolyn Hilton, both of Manning; one uncle, Leroy (Evelyn) Montgomery of Foreston; and two aunts, Hattie King of Baltimore, Md., and Myrtis Tucker of Memphis, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Susie Mae Hilton; and three brothers, Dorrell, Charles and Timothy Hilton.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Fleming & DeLaine Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Fleming & DeLaine Chapel, Boyce Street, Manning, with the Rev. Deloris Gerow, Gerri Houston and Marion H. Newton officiating.

Burial will be in Junky Yard Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Betty Hilton, 1167 J.L. Robinson Road, Foreston community, Manning.
