ALCOLU - Celia Burgess Wilson of Manning and Hunter Tyson Chestnut of Conway were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at New Harmony Presbyterian Church in Alcolu.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Joe Wilson Jr. and the granddaughter of Mrs. Edward Guy Gibbons and the late Mr. Edward Guy Gibbons and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Joe Wilson, all of Manning. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health and from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She will be employed by SLP Services in Whitesville, North Carolina.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Tyson Chestnut Jr. of Conway and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Waylon Samuel Johnson of Aynor and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Tyson Chestnut of Conway. He graduated from Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. He received a Master of Science in Nursing from Francis Marion University. He is employed by Conway Medical Center Family Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

The Rev. William Kenneth Herrington and the Rev. Ronald Clark Hickson officiated the ceremony.

Music was provided by Mrs. Kathy Owen Gatlin, pianist; Dr. David Lee Preston, cellist; Mr. Herbert Len Brown, handbells; and Mrs. Shelia Tomlinson Lee, Mrs. English Nagy Preston and Mrs. Linda Mininger Sanders, vocalists.

The Scripture reading was by the Rev. David Hart Sanders. Program attendants were Miss Summer Scarlett Ann Hickson and Miss Ansley Grace Hill. Mrs. Margaret Bland Cooper served as the wedding director.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore her mother's white long-sleeved wedding gown featuring a lace bodice. The back of the dress fell into a lace handkerchief shape accented by a bow with pearls. This gown was completed by a dupioni silk A-line chapel-length train. The lining of the dress was monogrammed in blue with the bride's initials and wedding date along with her mother's initials and wedding date. She carried a formal cascading bouquet with a large concentration of white roses centered by a large white lily, accented with foliage tendrils and wrapped with an heirloom handkerchief that was a gift to the bride when she was born. It was completed with a pearl pendant which belonged to her grandmother.

Mrs. Olivia Wilson Davis and Mrs. Macey Wilson Stokes served as the matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Perrin Jackson Anderson, Mrs. Kristan McElveen Coker, Mrs. Hanna Chestnut Hamill, Mrs. Shelia Tomlinson Lee and Mrs. Denise Turner McPherson. Miss Vivian Graham Preston served as a junior bridesmaid and Miss Ann Garrick Gibbons and Miss Everly Sophia Hamill served as flower girls. The honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Maggie Brown Dittmar, Mrs. Kaylee Williams Goff, Mrs. Allison Page Hill, Mrs. Mary Ashleigh Bleasdale Mahoney, Mrs. Gena DuRant Reeder, Mrs. Kathryn Windham Warren and Mrs. Haley Graham White.

The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Christopher Tanner Brunson, Mr. Lawrence Joseph Hamill IV, Mr. Daniel Glenn Rabon, Mr. Benjamin Stewart Teal, Mr. Thomas Shuler Ward and Mr. John Joe Wilson, lll. Mr. Westin Thomas Hamill served as junior groomsmen, and Master Nicholas Rance Stokes Jr. served as the ring bearer. The ushers were Mr. Ashton Neil Cullick, Mr. Raymond Bradley Davis and Mr. Nicholas Rance Stokes.

The bride's parents gave the reception on the back lawn of the church.

The bridegroom's parents gave the rehearsal dinner at Bridlestone in Sumter.

Following a honeymoon to the mountains of North Carolina, the couple will reside in Conway.
