Wilson Hall's literary teams win big

Wilson Hall's Elementary Literary Team and Middle School Literary Team each won first place in the S.C. Independent School Association State Literary Meet, which had more than 400 participants representing schools from throughout the state. Wilson Hall's delegation, consisting of 20 students in grades 2-12, participated in the competition held at Charleston Southern University. In addition to the two team trophies, Wilson Hall students earned 13 individual trophies. The following students won first-place trophies in their respective divisions: third-grader Angela Agno - storytelling; eighth-grader Cameron Coulter - essay; eighth-grader Samantha Fisher - essay; fifth-grader Madison Grace Hansen - poetry; seventh-grader Jeremiah Jones - extemporaneous speaking; and second-grader Eli Smith - storytelling. Receiving second-place trophies were fourth-grader Lauren Burchett - poetry; third-grader Harris Huffman - storytelling; senior Mitchell Matthews - essay; seventh-grader Ben Reynolds - oral interpretation humorous; and fifth-grader Banks Smith - poetry. Earning third-place trophies were seventh-grader Maggie Norris - oral interpretation humorous; and senior Daniel Metzdorf - oral interpretation dramatic. Lynn Davis and Ebbie Goodson advise the elementary team, and the middle school and high school teams are advised by Kristall Hanson, Molly McDuffie and Emily Robinson.
