A Manning woman is facing multiple charges after two arrests in December related to stolen items, drugs and a firearm.

Mendy M. McLaughlin, 32, of Boundary Street in Manning, faces charges from Sumter County Sheriff's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol after she was reportedly found with stolen goods and narcotics.

One warrant alleges McLaughlin had several cases of floor tiles and 36 wood spindles, all valued at about $600, in her possession that she knew or had reason to suspect was stolen on Dec. 22, 2018.

Those items were previously reported stolen within the city, said Ken Bell, public information officer for the sheriff's office.

A second warrant alleges McLaughlin entered a person’s residence through a window without consent on Dec. 23 and reportedly took various items valued at about $5,000, he said.

The suspect was also involved in a minor motor vehicle collision, he said, and responding law enforcement reported seeing the stolen items in plain view inside of the vehicle.

For those two alleged crimes, McLaughlin is charged with receiving stolen goods and burglary.

After an arrest on Dec. 24, she was also charged with unlawful possession of a pistol and possession of a controlled substance by highway patrol.
