Wright-Armfield

Mr. and Mrs. Roger McSwain Armfield Sr. of Sumter announce the engagement of their son, Roger McSwain Armfield II of Sumter, to Lauren Ashley Wright of Summerville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Brian Wheeler of Mount Pleasant and Mr. Douglas Edwin Wright of Ridgeville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Adrian Hancock and the late Mr. Hancock of Columbia and Mrs. Quitman Marshall Wright Sr. and the late Mr. Wright of Columbia. She graduated from Summerville High School in 2009, the University of South Carolina in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Midlands Technical College in 2018 with an Associate in Nursing. She is a registered nurse employed by Prisma Health Midlands Heart Hospital in Columbia.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Benjamin Harley Sr. of Barnwell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Meyer Armfield of Allendale. He graduated from Wilson Hall in 2006 and The Citadel in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is employed as a civil engineer with AECOM in Columbia.

The wedding is planned for March 14, 2020, at Shandon United Methodist Church in Columbia.
