Young-Sloan

Mr. and Mrs. William Jeffrey Young of Sumter announce the engagement of their son, Robert Scarborough Young of Sumter, to Brooks Margaret Sloan of Dillon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger McLellan Sloan of Dillon.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard David Sloan of Dillon and Mr. Fred Gilbert Darby and the late Donna Leopard Darby of Columbia. She graduated from Latta High School and the College of Charleston. She is employed as an event planner with Ashley Nicole Events of Charleston.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rockwell Young Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. William Bryan Steele Sr., all of Sumter, and the late Jacqueline McLendon Steele. He graduated from Wilson Hall and The Citadel. He is employed as a project engineer with Lithko Contracting in Charleston.

The wedding is planned for Nov. 23, 2019, at Litchfield Plantation, Litchfield Beach.
