282nd Army Band to perform free in Sumter on Dec. 6

The 282nd Army Band and Fort Jackson are spreading holiday cheer with a free concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Patriot Hall, 135 Haynsworth St.

The concert will be performed in two acts. The first titled Remembering Home will feature the songs "Joy Fanfare," "There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays," "Christmas Festival," "Sleigh Ride," "I'll be Home for Christmas," "The Christmas Song" and "Greensleeves."

The second act named Bringing Home to You will include "Holiday Essentials" (medley), "Merry Christmas, Here's to Many More," "O Holy Night," "Holiday Sing a Long," "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Jingle Bells."

"We want to instill the holiday spirit in all and enhance our ties with the communities," Chief Warrant Officer George T. Bauer, 282nd Army Band Master, said in a news release. "We want everyone to come out to meet your Army and enjoy the festive music."
