The 24th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Walk will be held on Monday, Jan. 15. The walk will start and end at the USC Sumter Nettles Building, near the corner of University Drive and Theater Drive. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. A program of celebration will be held at 9 a.m. and will include student presentations, Morris College Choir, and a speech from Grand Marshal Selena Smith. The Sumter County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, in the fellowship hall of Swan Lake Presbyterian Church, 912 Haynsworth St. Pat McNeely will speak on her book "Elizabeth & Ann Timothy: America's First Female Journalists in Colonial and Revolutionary War Times."
