ARTHUR LYNWOOD ATKINSON

MAYESVILLE - Arthur Lynwood Atkinson, 62, died on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.

Born on Nov. 13, 1961, in Bishopville, he was a son of the late Edward and Becky Herrington Atkinson. He was a retired painter.

Survivors include two brothers, Edward Atkinson Jr. (Ada) and Billy Atkinson (Wanda), both of Sumter; four sisters, Eloise Thigpen (Robert) and Betty Gomah, both of Charleston, Linda Walker of Summerville and Josie Hancock of Sumter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, in the Wells Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Hal Thompson and the Rev. Wayne McElveen.
