Church Women United of the Greater Sumter Area announces:

- Thursday, Jan. 18 - Annual Meeting and Human Rights Day Celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 105 S. Purdy St.

Knitting Hearts for Christ Ministry, which meets at Bethesda Church of God, 2730 Broad St., announces:

- Saturday - Knitting Hearts for Christ will meet from 10 a.m. to noon. Dr. Peter Wyns, international Bible teacher, speaker and author, and his wife, Joy, will deliver a relevant, life-changing message for the New Year. Peter and Joy have traveled extensively around the world and have ministered in more than 45 nations. Dr. Wyns is senior pastor at Antioch International Church, Fort Mill, and president and director of Ministry for Christians for Messiah Ministries, Rock Hill. He has also served with Derek Prince Ministries as their director of ministry. This was a special blessing to Dr. Wyns because Derek Prince is his grandfather. Continental breakfast included. - Sunday, Jan. 14 - The 40th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. James Blassingame will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. The choir will present a mini concert.
