Paxville Town Council Special Called Meeting will be on Jan. 30

PAXVILLE - Paxville Town Council will hold a special called meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, to discuss the town's grant for the town's park renovations.

Everyone is invited to attend. The meeting will be held at 10277 Lewis Road, Paxville.

St. Matthias' Annual Oyster Roast Jan. 27 at Flowers Farm

SUMMERTON - St. Matthias Episcopal Church will host its annual Oyster Roast at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Flowers Farm Tomato Shed on K.W. Hodge Road, off S.C. 301 south of Manning.

Tickets are $55 for all-you-can-eat steamed oysters, barbecue, chicken bog, catfish stew, sides, desserts and more. Plus, you'll be able to enjoy an evening of live entertainment.

Harvin Clarendon County Library upcoming events

MANNING - Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., has programs and events for every member of the family.

HCCL's Adult Winter Program will be held through Feb. 26. For each book read during that time, the reader has a chance to win a prize.

Registration for the program is open now, and reading logs are due on Feb. 26. Stop by HCCL to register and pick up a reading log.

HCCL's 2024 Youth Services Department offers a variety of programs for youth of all ages.

The Shake, Rattle and Read Toddler Storytime for ages up to 4 will be held at 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday. The program will include a story, singing, dancing and an activity for the library's little patrons to enjoy.

HCCL's Homeschool Connection Club for ages preschool to high school will be held at 11 a.m. every Friday. This program was created to connect homeschool families with resources available with the local community and the public library.

HCCL's Club Lego will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 17 and March 23.

HCCL's hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. WiFi is available in the library's parking lot from 8 am. to 8 p.m.
