GARLAND GULLEDGE NETTLES

LEXINGTON - Garland Gulledge Nettles, wife of Lawrence "Larry" Thomas Nettles Sr., died on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on March 25, 1952, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Jackson Gulledge Sr. and Margaret Randle Richardson Gulledge. She formerly worked for the Sumter Gallery of Art and Flowers de Linda in Manning. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Sumter.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years of Lexington; three children, Lance Nettles (Suzanne) of Chapin, Edmund Nettles (Christy) of Darlington and Jackson Nettles (Noelle) of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Chasker, Derrick, Wyatt, Zachary, Dakotah, Dylan and Sabrina (Josh); a brother, Pebble Gulledge (Sue) of Wedgefield; three nieces; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randle Gulledge.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Ridenhour officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chasker Nettles, Derrick Nettles, Wyatt Nettles, Zachary Turner, Dylan Stanley and Josh Drotar.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
