LEILA VIRGINIA ANDREWS PARKER

Leila Virginia "Ginger" Andrews Parker, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Charles Herman Andrews Jr. and Leila Virginia Riley Andrews. Ginger was a strong woman of faith who loved God with all her heart. She grew up attending Aldersgate UMC with her family. Ginger believed in working hard in both her career as well as her favorite role in life, which was a mother to Tanner. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed being in the kitchen. She will be remembered as a very devoted and loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by a son, Tanner Andrews Parker; her brother, Charles Herman "Chuck" Andrews III and wife, Beth; her brother, Michael Riley Andrews; her sister, Sandra "Sandy" Andrews Noonan, all of Sumter; a great-aunt, Alma Riley Davis of Martinez, Georgia; numerous special nieces and nephews; a special group of treasured friends; and her faithful canine companion, Dutchess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Sandel Andrews, and a brother-in-law, William T. "Bill" Noonan Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert N. Jackson officiating. The interment will immediately follow the service in Sumter Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tanner A. Parker, Charles H. Andrews IV, Daniel J. Andrews, Joseph H. Gainey III, James E. Noonan and William T. Noonan Jr.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday at Bullock Funeral Home.
