LOUISE B. HASIBAR

Louise B. Hasibar, 94, widow of Robert L. Hasibar, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at The Retreat at Carolina Bay in Hartsville.

Born on June 16, 1929, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe C. and Jewel Fowler Barwick. She was a lifelong member of St. Anne Catholic Church. Mrs. Hasibar retired from Southern Bell after 33 years of service and later retired from Sumter Area Technical College. She was an Avon representative for many years and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include two children, Monica H. Downing of Goose Creek and Robert L. "Bobby" Hasibar Jr. (Pamela) of Bishopville; seven grandchildren, Heather Longshore, Derek N. Downing, Chelsea L. Downing, Laura J. Downing, Lynsey Hasibar, Haley Hasibar and Devin Hasibar; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sybil DeBerry and Beverly Rhodes (Doug).

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Therese Marie Hasibar Atkinson; two grandchildren, Veronica Atkinson and John Robert Atkinson; two brothers, Duard Barwick and Norman Barwick; and a sister, Norma Jean Hudson.

The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and will receive friends other times at the home of her son, 1283 Old Camden Road, Bishopville.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today in the St. Lawrence Cemetery with the Rev. Craig Tedder officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Retreat at Carolina Bay and Amedysis Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
