LOUISE HERIOT

Louise Heriot, 84, mother of Jack Herriot, died on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Unique Rehabilitation Center of Washington, D.C.

Born on Feb. 1, 1940, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Walter Alston and Rosa H. Davis. She attended Ebenezer High School and Joshua Baptist Church, both in Dalzell. She worked as a supervisor at the National Lutheran Home and a few other similar care facilities during her long career in Washington, D.C. She enjoyed soap operas, traveling and casinos.

Survivors in addition to her son include one granddaughter, Jacqueline Woody of Washington, D.C.; one brother and sister, Joseph Heriot and Wilhelmina Heriot, both of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Bertha Wilson and Theresa Lacey, both of Rembert; and a host of other family members.

Public viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, SC 29040.
