Funeral services for Marion Green Jr. will be held at noon on Saturday at Bethel AME Church, 1505 S. Kings Highway, Wedgefield, with the Rev. Rhudene Toomer, pastor, and the Rev. Larry D. Clark, eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Marion, aka "Bad Boy," husband of the late Sallie Mae Washington Green, was born on June 2, 1937, in Wedgefield, to the late John "Marion" Green Sr. and Prectida Scott Green Washington.

In addition to his wife, his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Oxendine, Janie Lee Taylor and Sarah Harvin; five brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.

Marion departed this life on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, in Sumter.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving children, Deacon Earl (Lucille) Green and Margaret Joyner; two grandchildren, Quina Joyner and Latonya Canty; one sister, Marie Anderson; two brothers, James Green and Robert Green; five sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Green, Doshia Green, Naomi Polk, Susan Sims and Rovenia Harris; loved as a son, the Rev. John (Estelle) Cunningham; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 2410 Emil Road, Wedgefield.
