Mary Lee "Trixie" Gregg Mack, 89, departed this earthly life on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, in Philadelphia.

Born on Sept. 4, 1929, in Mayesville, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Rosa Gregg. She was educated in the Lee County Public School System. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, where she sang with the senior choir. In 1945, Trixie was joined in holy matrimony to the late Arnold "Butterbean" Mack. From this union, they were blessed with six children.

One of her children, Leroy Mack, preceded her in death.

She was employed by the Sumter County Public School System for 29 years, where she never missed a day of work.

Trixie leaves to cherish her memories: her five children, Laura (Dewey) Turner of Glenside, Pennsylvania, Arnold "Nookie" (Della) Mack Jr. of Sumter, Jackie (Jack) Wilson of Sumter, Patricia "Pam" (Everett) Burk of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, and Johnnie "Pokey" Mack of Sumter; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a special brother-in-law, Nathaniel Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 327 Mooneyham Road, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1275 Oswego Highway, Sumter, with the Rev. Daniel Bennett, pastor, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:20 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, 802 N. Guignard Drive, Sumter.
