McLeod Health supports local news with Sumter Today sponsorship

Sumter Today, the pioneer video news show from The Sumter Item, has a new cheerleader.

McLeod Health is now a presenting sponsor of Sumter Today, enabling The Item to produce and deliver all-positive news to the community for free.

"Sumter Today launched on Feb. 14 in 2018, and what a fitting time to welcome such a great community partner to the show," said Kayla Green, executive editor of The Item. "Sumter Today is an all-good news show and a great way for us to celebrate all there is to love about Sumter. Not just on Valentine's Day!"

Because McLeod Health, USC Sumter and Sumter Tourism sponsor Sumter Today, The Item is able to make the show free, which gives everyone access to local news.

Part of McLeod Health joining Sumter Today includes the show's expansion into Clarendon County.

"I'm excited to start telling stories in Clarendon County and showcase some of the great people, events and programs there," said Zac Hooks, video editor for The Item.
