MURIEL C. O'CONNELL

Muriel Corbett O'Connell, age 76, beloved wife of nine years to Edward Joseph O'Connell, died on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Rita Catherine Kelly Corbett.

Surviving in addition to her husband are six sons, Wayne Fizzuoglio and his wife, Stephanie, of Miller Place, New York, Mark Fizzuoglio of Miller Place, Paul Fizzuoglio of Flanders, New York, Edward O'Connell Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Lake Placid, Florida, Lenny O'Connell and his wife, Angie, of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Jimmy O'Connell and his wife, Karen, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; four daughters, Cynthia Garcia and her husband, Steve, of Miller Place, Kerrie Lorandini and her husband, Gary, of Sound Beach, New York, Rita Fizzuoglio of Phoenix and Debby Whaley and her husband, Jeff, of Dalzell; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Corbett; and one sister, Rita Litts and her husband, Edward, of Raleigh, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please send Teddy bears to be donated to the children's ward at Palmetto Health Tuomey to 3285 Oleander Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
