Pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle in Rembert

A Ridgeway man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Saturday according to a news release from Sumter County Coroner's Office.
Jeremy Qualls, 37, of Springville Rd., Ridgeway, was pronounced dead on the scene. Qualls was walking in the roadway about 1 a.m. on U.S. 521 North in Rembert when he was hit.
According to the release, an autopsy will be performed at a later date at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Sumter County Coroner’s office along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
