Ray Charles Mellette, 62, was born on Aug. 25, 1956, in Sumter, to the late Roy Mellette and Annie Bell Hickman.
He departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, in Sumter.
He is survived by a sister, Carolyn Ramsey; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at the chapel of Whites Mortuary, 517 N. Guignard Drive, Sumter. Interment will follow at Bradford Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.
The family is receiving friends at 109 Carolina Ave., Sumter.
