Letter to the editor: Singleton deserves recognition for feeding those in need

Posted

We have someone in Sumter who deserves recognition. For the past three years, my wife and I have helped Geraldine Singleton feed people who might not otherwise get a meal on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Last Saturday we delivered about 90 meals to homeless, homebound and disadvantaged people in Sumter. That is only a portion of the meals provided out of Geraldine's apartment kitchen, as there are others helping prepare and deliver. I don't know how she does it but am glad to do the small part we can do.

She does not look for accolades, but I felt they should be given. There is often little between us and those Geraldine feeds.
