Sumter City Council to consider amendment, recognize long-time employees today

Sumter City Council will meet at 1 p.m. today in City Council Chambers, fourth floor of Sumter Opera House, 21 N. Main St., to consider an amendment to the Shaw-Sumter Buffer Property Use Guidelines to include guidelines for the newly constructed Welcome Center on land near Shaw Air Force Base. Council will also elect a mayor pro tem.

Before considering the amendment, city council will recognize city employees who have worked with the municipality for 10 and 15 years.
