Sumter County Sheriff's Office warns of phone scam for AT&T users

Sumter County Sheriff's Office is warning Sumter residents about a phone scam.
AT&T wireless customers are getting calls from an automated system that shows up on the caller ID as their own number. The automated message claims to be from AT&T and states that the wireless account has been flagged for security purposes and asks the person to enter the last 4 digits of the primary account holder’s Social Security number.
AT&T has confirmed this is a scam. Do not answer if it is from your mobile number. Under no circumstance should you give such personal information to this automated system; hang up immediately.
