Sumter first responders are on the scene of a daycare fire on Wilson Hall Road.
Firetrucks were seen before 1 p.m. today, March 7, arriving at the parking lot of Club House Learning Center, next door to Gamecock on Wheels, along Wilson Hall Road.
Battalion Chief Jeffery Shirley with Sumter Fire Department said the building has been safely evacuated, and all children and staff are accounted for. The scene is still active.
The roof's wooden beams could be seen from the exterior. A total assessment of damage to the building was not available.
Wilson Hall Road is blocked off from the traffic light next to Assured Partners to the Sumter School District office.
