A Sumter truck driver is $250,000 richer according to a news release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
Robert Miller stopped at a truck stop to fill his stomach and instead ended up filling his wallet. The Sumter man purchased a sandwich and a lottery scratch-off ticket at the Enmarket No. 892 in Harleyville on U.S. 15 North.
As soon as he realized he was a winner, he called his wife.
“I couldn’t keep it to myself,” Miller said in the release. “I thought I was going to bust if I didn’t tell someone I’d won.”
The couple says they’ll be debt free by the weekend and are going to buy a house.
“Our dreams have come true,” Miller said.
Miller claimed the last top prize on the $10 Emerald Green 10s game at odds of 1 in 660,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Enmarket #892 received a commission of $2,500.
