YONEKO YAJIMA CLEMENS

MYRTLE BEACH - Yoneko Yajima Clemens, 94, widow of William C. Clemens, died on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at her daughter's home in Myrtle Beach, where she resided the past nine years.

Born in Japan, she was a daughter of the late Dennichio Najima and Kazio Gomi Najima.

Surviving are one son, Richard Clemens (Lenora) of Manning; two daughters, Mary Byrley (Frankie) of Myrtle Beach and Doris Bledsoe (David) of Sumter; one granddaughter, Lisa Ivey; a grandson, David Bledsoe Jr. of Sumter; one brother, Yoshi; and other family members in Japan.

Yoneko loved to cook and kept a spotless house. Nothing slowed her down, and she stayed strong until the end.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Cross (Anglican) at Stateburg with Father Michael Ridgill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church.
