The first baby born in Clarendon County in 2019 was Shanyah Renee Sims, the daughter of Jermaine Sims and Shacota Fleming of Salters. Born at 12:26 a.m. on Jan. 2 at McLeod Clarendon, Shanyah weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.
