BAYLEE OLIVIA JOHNSON and BABY JOHNNY

Posted

Baylee Olivia Johnson, 24, and her precious unborn son, Johnny, went home to Jesus on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina, surrounded by their loving family.
Born April 4, 2002, Baylee was the beloved daughter of John Richard “Rick” Johnson and Robin Marie Johnson. She was a daughter, baby sister, aunt, granddaughter, girlfriend, niece, cousin, friend and, most recently and perhaps most proudly, a mama.
Baylee worked at Prisma Health OB/GYN–Sumter, where her caring heart, quick wit and unforgettable personality made her a treasured coworker and friend. Caring for others came naturally to Baylee — but so did making them laugh. Baylee was silly, spontaneous and completely carefree. She would dance anywhere, sing as loudly as she wanted and never give a second thought to who might be watching—or how crazy she looked while doing it. She did not simply walk into a room; she brought life into it. She loved hunting and fishing, racing go-karts, shopping and spending time with her family. She loved her dogs, Ruby and Roscoe, reading her Bible, and making other people smile.
Baylee is survived by her loving parents, Rick and Robin Johnson; her sisters, Breanna Johnson Wise and husband, Will, and Brittani Johnson Coker and husband, Michael; her boyfriend and Johnny’s father, Justin Lowder; her grandmothers, Wilma Ruth Johnson (Bill Boatman) and Diane Caughman; her beloved nieces and nephew, Brennan Wise, Huck Hughes, Audrey Wise, Ava Grace Coker, Malorie Coker, Olivia Coker and Lillian Coker; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, coworkers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James Edward “Jimmy” Johnson and Robert “Robbie” Caughman.
A funeral service celebrating the lives of Baylee and Johnny will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at Northside Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Allen Johnson, the Rev. Jim Johnson and the Rev. Jimmy Holly. Burial will follow in the Zoar Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Truitt, Bryan “Squeaky” Norton, Billy Corsey, Terry “Her Other Dad” Caples, Dylan Johnson, Patrick “Bart” Johnson, Blake Norton and Pierce Davis.
The visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses and entire care team at McLeod Regional Medical Center for the extraordinary compassion, honesty, patience, prayers and tenderness shown to Baylee, Johnny and their family during the most difficult days of their lives. Your kindness and care will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Baylee and Johnny to the McLeod Guest House through the McLeod Health Foundation, 300 S. Dargan St., Florence, SC 29502. Please designate all donations for the McLeod Guest House.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. https://ecsfuneralhome.com/book-of-memories/5741521/baylee-johnson/
