An autopsy showed the Sumter teenager found dead in the front yard of an abandoned Wilder Street house on Monday was killed by a gunshot.

Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said Antwan Dukes, 17, of Belmont Drive, was pronounced dead on scene on Jan. 20.

Belmont Drive and Wilder Street intersect off Manning Avenue.

The autopsy was performed Wednesday morning at MUSC in Charleston, Baker said.

Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, initially said the death is being investigated as suspicious.
