SIMPLE LARCENY, POINTING AND PRESENTING A FIREARM

Jonathan Antrio Goodman, 31, of Montana Drive, Sumter, has been charged with simple larceny, $2,000 or less, and pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, according to Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer with Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

A warrant for his arrest states Goodman took a utility trailer, valued at $600, from a lot on McCrays Mill Road on March 18. Officers responded to the area after receiving a call about a brown Chevrolet Tahoe pulling the trailer from the victim's yard. In an attempt to evade officers, Goodman turned off the road and crashed into a tree. He then fled on foot leaving his cellphone, keys to his home and driver's license behind.

A responding officer witnessed Goodman driving the vehicle and was able to identify him later.

A second warrant for a separate incident states Goodman unlawfully pointed a firearm, not in self-defense, at a woman during an altercation on Fletcher Drive on March 26. Goodman allegedly got out of his vehicle and pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the woman. He also allegedly punched the woman in the mouth.

The victim provided law enforcement with a statement implicating Goodman.

TRESPASSING, ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 3RD DEGREE

Benjamin Bee Robinson, 39, of Broad Street, Sumter, has been charged with trespassing and assault and battery, third degree, according to Sarvis.

A warrant for his arrest states Robinson entered a store in the 4300 block of Broad Street on March 28, where he was asked to leave and had been previously warned to not enter. Robinson allegedly pushed the male victim and punched him in the face.

Robinson was transported to Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center and posted a $465 surety bond for the trespassing charge and a $1,087.50 surety bond for third-degree assault and battery on March 31.
