Dorothy Mae Williams, 72, transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, March 14, 2019, surrounded by her family at her home.

Born on July 20, 1946, in Rembert, Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Ida Pearl Waiters Williams. Early in life, she received and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member of Greater Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Sumter. She was educated at Ebenezer High School and received her GED from Washington, D.C., Adult Education. She resided in Washington, D.C., for many years before returning home to South Carolina.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Jimmie Antonio (Natasha) Williams of Dalzell and Keegan Gerald (Jeanell) Williams of Sumter; one grandson, Khaleel Juwaun Williams; her sisters, Mary Williams Harden of Charlotte, North Carolina, Florence Gillis of Dalzell and Luetilda Ann (Tommie) Canty of Newport News, Virginia; one brother, Eugene (Betty) Williams of Charlotte; two sisters-in-law; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 6389 Hugh Ryan Road, Dalzell.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert, with the Rev. Anthony Taylor, pastor, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. for viewing until time of services.

The funeral procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be at the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Churchyard Cemetery.
