Letter to the editor: Even with the evils of this world, there's hope for America

Posted

It was with great joy that I read the letter to the editor in Saturday's paper, Dec. 30. The commentary next to it was about the birth of Jesus Christ and made it even better. Both made me proud to be living in the Sumter area where two men aren't afraid to speak the truth and it makes it into The Item, our local newspaper.

It makes me sad to know that the America I used to know has fallen to the evils of this world. It is plain to me that America is so divided that it can only be described as good versus evil. I see it all around in America, and I thank God that he keeps me safe as possible in the Sumter area. Thanks to those who keep us safe.

I want to talk about the evil that prevails in our country. I have never seen the injustice that is taking place. It reminds me of when Jesus was here on earth. They persecuted and prosecuted Him until He was dead. Will that happen in America today?

Satan stands against God, and truth stands for God. One man is evil and is destroying America but is getting rich from our enemies. Another man speaks the truth and loves America, and he is facing all the evil that the evil man can think up. The evil man is not by himself, he has lots of friends helping him. It seems as though evil is winning, but we all know that good wins in the end. God has a plan, and it will prevail. I don't know what it is or how He will make it happen, but it will. If you want to know the truth, ask God for discernment. I can't believe my intelligent friends when they say "there's no proof" when it's all around us. Do they have to hear the truth from the liars? Liars don't tell the truth.

There is hope for America but not until things change. We have invited Satan in and pushed God out. I know that we really can't change anywhere but where we live, but that would be a good start.
