Free COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Sumter Friday

The South Carolina Department of Education will host a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Sumter County on Friday, Jan. 7.

According to DHEC, only 54.6% of residents have received one dose of the vaccine and 44% received the completed series of doses.

Sumter County residents can receive the vaccine from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Birnie Hope Center, 210 S. Purdy St. Attendees 12 years and older will be able to receive the Pfizer vaccine, and adults 18 years and older will be able to receive the Moderna or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Recipients will receive a gift card, while supplies last, and entered to win prizes.
