Harvey Walter Achziger Jr., 64, husband of Tammy Crolley Achziger, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born Sept. 8, 1959, in Sumter, he was the son of the late Harvey Walter Achziger Sr. and the late Mary Lou McLean Achziger. He was the owner and operator of McLean Marine where he served the marine community for more than 50 years, and loved each customer that entered the door. He also served his community as a paramedic with Sumter County EMS in his younger years. Harvey was a “Motor Whisperer,” but also an incredible father, husband and friend. He accepted Jesus to be his Lord and Savior years ago and wanted everyone to know that God wanted to be their individual captain on the boat called life.  He was an active member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. His favorite place was on the water with his family in his War Eagle with the “Dirty Thirty.”
Survivors include his wife of 33 years; a daughter, McLean Marie Achziger of Sumter; and a number of other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kaye Achziger; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry C. and Marie T. Crolley.
