Incumbent McLeod takes Sumter school board Area 6 with 61% of vote

Two-term incumbent Matthew “Mac” McLeod easily captured the Sumter school board Area 6 race with 61.05% of the vote Tuesday. 

Challengers Venitia Reebel and Sindy Beam finished a distant second and third, respectively. Reebel earned 24.40% of the total vote, and Beam took 13.19%. 

Area 6 mainly contains areas just south and west of the City of Sumter and includes the Privateer and Cane Savannah areas and Forest Lake Estates. Major roadways include Pinewood Road, Kolb Road, Cains Mill Road, Bethel Church Road and parts of McCrays Mill Road.
