Sumter Item reporter speaks to Furman middle school students about creative writing

Item newsletter editor and reporter Bryn Eddy spoke to Furman Middle School students on March 7 for Literacy Week. She told them that most of being a good writer is being a good reader and adventurer, noting that a writer's favorite books and experiences are what shapes their writing voice, especially when it comes to journalism. Eddy also emphasized the importance of being sensitive and fair in reporting. The students asked about her college experience and most memorable stories she has covered so far in her career.
