JOE CLARY PEARSON

Joe Clary "Popa" Pearson, 78, died on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at Sumter East Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on April 26, 1943, in Sumter, a son of the late Willie and Catherine McBride Pearson.

Public viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St., Manning.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Nation Full Gospel Ministry, 410 S. Main St., Sumter, with Bishop Marvin Hodge, pastor, the Rev. Hazel Charles officiating and Minister Ethel McBride Richburg and Minister William McBride Jr. assisting. Burial will follow at Pearson Chapel Non-Denominational Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. at the home of his sister, Bernice Samuels, 3232 Old Manning Road, Sumter. Masks required.
