MANNING — A 27-year-old Manning man was found shot to death early Sunday morning near his Herod Drive home, according to the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office.

Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock identified the man as Corey (Terell) McFadden.

“An autopsy will be performed on Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina,” Mock said.

According to Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley, deputies responded to Herod Drive around 1:16 a.m. Sunday for a reported missing person.

Friends of McFadden reported him missing after they arrived at his home before midnight to pick him up for his birthday celebration and he wasn’t there.

“While continuing to work the missing person’s case, investigators along with family members located Mr. McFadden, who was found deceased on a property nearby,” Baxley said. “Mr. McFadden had succumbed to apparent gunshot wounds.”

Herod Drive is located in a rural community off Oak Grove Church Road off S.C. 260, a few miles outside Manning.

Baxley said McFadden’s death is an ongoing investigation and that anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 435-4414. Callers do not need to identify themselves to leave information.
