Manning Police Chief gives all clear to Walmart after suspicious package scare

MANNING – The suspicious package that caused the temporary closure of Manning’s Walmart Thursday morning has been identified.

“The package has been identified,” said Manning Police Chief Keith Grice. “The store is back open for business.”

Grice said that the packaging of the item was different than its typical packaging and that’s what sounded the alarm. The package was found in the store's produce section.

“You can never be too safe,” Grice added. “We want to thank everyone for their cooperation and understanding.”
