New Year's Schedule: Weekend, Dec. 30-Jan. 1, 2024

BANKS - The Federal Reserve will be closed Monday. Area banks and credit unions typically follow the Federal Reserve holiday closing schedule, but it is recommended that readers verify the holiday hours of their particular financial institution.

GOVERNMENT - The following will be closed Monday: federal government offices, U.S. Postal Service, South Carolina state government offices, City of Sumter offices, Sumter County offices, Clarendon County offices, City of Manning offices, Bishopville City Hall and Lee County Courthouse.

SCHOOLS - The following will be closed through Monday and will observe a teacher work/in-service day on Tuesday, with school resuming on Wednesday: Clarendon County School District, Lee County Public Schools, Lee Academy, Thomas Sumter Academy, Sumter Christian School and Liberty STEAM Charter School.

Laurence Manning Academy will be closed through Tuesday.

Wilson Hall will be closed through Wednesday.

Clarendon Hall will be closed through Friday.

Sumter School District will be closed through Wednesday, will observe a school work day on Thursday and a district professional learning day on Friday. School will resume on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.

UTILITIES - Black River Electric Coop. and FTC will be closed Monday.

OTHER - The following will be closed through Monday: Clemson Extension Service, Sumter County Library, Harvin Clarendon County Library and the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce.

The Sumter Item will be closed Monday.
