New Year's Schedule: Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023

BANKS - The Federal Reserve will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. Area banks and credit unions typically follow the Federal Reserve holiday closing schedule, but it is recommended that readers verify the holiday hours of their particular financial institution.

GOVERNMENT - The following will be closed today and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024: South Carolina state government offices, City of Sumter offices, Sumter County offices, Clarendon County offices, City of Manning offices and Bishopville City Hall.

Lee County Courthouse will be closed today-Wednesday, Dec. 27, and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Federal government offices and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

SCHOOLS - The following will be closed through Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, and will observe a teacher work/in-service day on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, with school resuming on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024: Clarendon County School District, Lee County Public Schools, Lee Academy, Thomas Sumter Academy and Sumter Christian School.

Laurence Manning Academy will be closed through Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.

Wilson Hall will be closed through Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024.

Clarendon Hall will be closed through Friday, Jan. 5, 2024.

Liberty STEAM Charter School will be closed through Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, and will observe a work day on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, with school resuming on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024.

Sumter School District will be closed through Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, and will observe a school work day on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, and a district professional learning day on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024. School will resume on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.

UTILITIES - Black River Electric Coop. and FTC will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

OTHER - Clemson Extension Service will be closed through Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

The Sumter County Library will be closed today and Saturday-Monday, Dec. 30-Jan 1, 2024.

The Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce will be closed through Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Harvin Clarendon County Library will be closed today and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

The Sumter Item will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.
