N.Y. woman killed in single-vehicle wreck on I-95

MANNING – A New York woman was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95 late Monday night.

Clarendon County Coroner Jackie Blackwell said EvanJaleek Jean Shanice Salter, 26,  died at the scene.

The driver of the car was transported to Prisma Health Richland and a second passenger in the car was taken to McLeod Health, according to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred at 11:11 p.m. on I-95 southbound around mile marker 121, two miles north of Manning, Tidwell said.  The 2019 Nissan sedan traveled off the road to the right and struck a guardrail.

Blackwell said an autopsy on Salter will be held Thursday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
