A man who was placed on Sumter County Sheriff's Office Most Wanted list last month for his alleged involvement in the stabbing of another man was taken into custody by investigators Thursday evening.

According to investigators, 32-year-old Jermaine Antonio Hodge of Mayesville stabbed a man in the abdomen with a kitchen knife at a residence in the 30 block of Oakview Drive in Sumter shortly after 2 a.m. on April 21.

Witnesses said the victim arrived at the residence and attempted to deescalate a domestic dispute between Hodge and his girlfriend when Hodge attacked him. The suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The victim underwent surgery for his injuries and was hospitalized for five days.
Hodge is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and is in custody at Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
